Fishing with Captain Donovan
In 2016, I dropped out of college to pursue my dream of being a professional fishing guide. After hundreds of days and thousands of hours on the water, I was able to attain my Captain's License in 2021 and have been a full time fishing guide since.

No matter which trip you decide is the best for you and your group, one thing stays the same - my drive to make your trip as memorable as possible and maximize our opportunities. We use top of the line equipment and tackle from brands like Shimano, Bull Bay Rods, Star Rods, Florida Fishing Products, and others.

Captain Donovan is the Owner/Operator of Reel McCoy Charters on Hilton Head Island, SC.
Your day will be spent on a clean, well-maintained 2021 20' Sea Pro center console. This boat is equipped with a hard T top, trolling motor, livewells, cooler, and all required USCG safety equipment.
Fishing licenses for all anglers are covered under Captain Donovan's USCG and South Carolina licenses.
We do offer credit card payment, with a 3.5% processing fee.
To save the fee's, Cash and Venmo are preferred!
We understand if you'd like to keep a couple fish for dinner! Our fishery is under a tremendous amount of pressure, so to do our part we have self imposed limits that are slightly lower than SCDNR. Ask Captain Donovan if you have any questions regarding fish limits. Reel McCoy Charters is not a "fill the freezer" company, but can recommend you to some offshore charters around the island that have the availability to harvest more fish.
